Rebecca & Michael
LAKE COMO, ITALY

Whether you are looking to tie the knot or indulge after the wedding, there’s a spot that definitely needs to be on the top of your list. Nestled in the foothills of the Rhaetian Alps is perhaps one of Italy’s most picturesque destinations—Lake Como, the most scenic of the region’s three major lakes and just an hour north of Milan. Along the western shore of Lake Como is the small village of Ossuccio, home to the exquisite Villa Balbiano, a unique and elegant palazzo whose period heritage permeates its thick stone walls. Built by Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio at the end of the 16th century, and later thoughtfully restored by the French decorator Jacques Garcia, the villa’s grounds are dotted with statues and fountains with meandering paths that lead to meticulously manicured lawns and an outdoor terrace that commands panoramic views of the lake—perfect for Rebecca and Michael’s wedding celebration.
Guests were seated on draped chairs with sheer fabrics to create a romantic Italian garden ambience. Petals for the flower toss were packaged in beautiful lace crochet bags. The couple chose a classic muted French hand painted stationery suite.
